Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: November 17, 2025

Our Commitment

The Maryland Positive Supports (MD-PS) website, as part of the Tiered Supports Collaborative (“TSC”) , is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including individuals with disabilities.

We strive to make our website content and online materials accessible and usable by everyone, regardless of ability, technology, or environment.

Accessibility Standards

Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We also aim to align with the Section 508 Standards of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended), which apply to federal electronic and information technology accessibility.

Measures We Take

To ensure accessibility and usability, we:

  • Use semantic HTML and proper heading structures to support screen readers.

  • Provide alternative text for meaningful images and media.

  • Design with high color contrast and scalable text.

  • Avoid reliance on color alone to convey meaning.

  • Ensure that interactive elements (forms, buttons, menus) are accessible via keyboard navigation.

  • Test our content using accessibility tools and user feedback.

Our team continues to review, assess, and improve the accessibility of this website as technologies and standards evolve.

Third-Party Content

Some materials or resources linked on this site (e.g., videos, documents, or external sites) may be hosted by third parties. While we strive to ensure accessibility wherever possible, we cannot guarantee that all external content meets the same accessibility standards as our own.

Ongoing Effort and Feedback

We view accessibility as an ongoing responsibility and welcome your feedback to improve the user experience.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website or have difficulty accessing any content, please contact us so we can address the issue promptly.
